What is an occupational therapist?
Occupational therapy is a process that involves helping people at all stages of life (from toddlers to elderly) develop, maintain, or recover the skills they need to daily activities (aka occupations) that are meaningful and necessary.
Occupational therapy assists people to function in all their environments and address the physical and cognitive aspects of their well-being through engagement in occupation. This can be achieved by means of regaining skills that will improve your independence, learning new ways to do everyday tasks, despite and illness or injury, making recommendations for adaptive
equipment , or educating care givers how to assist their family members. Our practice scope is providing Occupational Therapy services predominantly for adults requiring physical, psychological, and vocational rehabilitation.
We are based in Secunda and work closely together with the community, mines, power stations, industrial companies, surrounding hospitals, clinics, General Practitioners and Specialists in Secunda, Trichardt, Evander, Kinross, Kriel, Bethal, Embalenhle as well as with the neighbouring towns and cities.
